It's gritty, it kept me tense and it's an actual horror game that's not just a jumpscare factory. (Took 5 hours, the rest is from previously playing 1 chapter years ago, but leaving the game on by accident)
I haven't played through a game in a single session in a long time, but this was it. It's clunky, it shows it age with anything widescreen-related and the game on its own is not very tight with its nonsense story, bad voice acting and inconsistent fight mechanics.īut it's so fun. I have about three hours on Steam and I've completed both endings on the Series S thanks to Game Pass. If you're wondering why the playtime is so low? This is another game that does not play well with Steam overlay. It definitely deserves a place in your library. In my opinion Condemned was the last good survival horror game before the genre was overflowing with jump scare walking sims. What separates Condemned from it's sequel is that it kept the weird supernatural nonsense unexplained, so you could decide for yourself if that stuff was really happening, or it was Ethan slowly going mad as he fought for his life. You really do see blood, spit and teeth fragments fly out of their mouth when you beat them.
This involves skulking around back alleys, abandoned buildings and subway stations, all while trying to avoid crackheads, homeless schitzos, and if you can't get around them you can always knock their teeth out with a variety of melee weapons. You're FBI, you've been framed for murder, and now you have to solve your own case while trying to survive on the street.
